Omnisend vs Klaviyo
CLVmaxers is Omnisend-first but manages Klaviyo accounts too, so this isn't a sales page for either. It's how the two compare in day-to-day work for Shopify and WooCommerce brands.

The short answer
For most Shopify and WooCommerce stores doing six to seven figures a year, Omnisend is the better fit. In CLVmaxers' experience it covers roughly 80–90% of what Klaviyo does, and that share is the load-bearing part these brands use most: flows, campaigns, segmentation, forms, SMS and push. At list prices, Omnisend's Standard plan costs 12% to 43% less than Klaviyo's email plan between 5,000 and 50,000 contacts, billed month to month. Klaviyo is the stronger choice for larger brands that need predictive analytics, custom reporting and a wide integration stack, and have the team to use them.
Side by side
Both platforms are capable. The differences are in who they're built for and how much effort it takes to get value from them.

Pricing, like for like
Same contact count, list prices, monthly billing, in US dollars. Omnisend Standard and Klaviyo's email plan are the closest like-for-like pair: both cover email only and cap monthly sends at a multiple of your list.
Sources: Omnisend pricing (list prices as published, August 2026) and Klaviyo pricing (slider prices as published, May 2026). Prices are for the top of each contact tier and exclude Omnisend's 30% three-month prepay offer, add-ons and tax. Both platforms adjust tiers, so check the live calculators against your own contact count.
Klaviyo billing
Since 18 February 2025, Klaviyo bills on active profiles: every contact it can still email, text or push to, whether or not you've messaged them recently. Cold subscribers, old imports and checkout contacts who never opted in all count until you suppress them, and crossing a tier boundary moves you up straight away. That's why many brands see their Klaviyo invoice rise without sending more.
To be fair to Klaviyo, Omnisend also bills non-subscribers, so list hygiene matters on both platforms. The difference is the price per tier. Either way, a sunset flow and regular suppression of unengaged contacts is the cheapest saving available, and it's part of the list clean-up CLVmaxers runs before any migration.

To be fair, Klaviyo also offers an MCP connection. The difference is emphasis: Klaviyo puts more AI inside the platform, while Omnisend makes it easy to run your marketing from the AI assistant you already use.

FAQ
Is Omnisend cheaper than Klaviyo?
Usually, yes. At list prices, Omnisend Standard costs $81 a month at 5,000 contacts against $100 on Klaviyo's email plan, and $413 against $720 at 50,000 contacts: 12% to 43% less across the range. Both bill month to month. Pricing changes, so compare current plans against your own contact count and SMS volume.
Is Omnisend good for Shopify and WooCommerce?
Yes. Omnisend integrates natively with Shopify and WooCommerce, syncing products, orders and customer events in real time for flows and segments, and its WooCommerce plugin is rated 4.9/5 on WordPress.org. Klaviyo's Shopify integration syncs a few more data points, which matters mostly to large Shopify Plus stores.
Can Omnisend do everything Klaviyo does?
In CLVmaxers' experience, roughly 80–90% of it. Klaviyo goes further on predictive analytics, custom reporting, integrations, WhatsApp and two-way SMS. For six- and seven-figure brands those extras mostly go unused, and the part they rely on every day is fully covered in Omnisend.
Is it hard to switch from Klaviyo to Omnisend?
Not if it's planned. Omnisend's team migrates your lists, flows and templates for free within five days. CLVmaxers can add the parts that make it worth doing: list verification and clean-up, and a full rebuild from scratch in up to 2 weeks where the old flows need it. There's no gap in sending either way.
Do Omnisend and Klaviyo have free plans?
Yes. Both free plans cover 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Klaviyo's includes a small SMS allowance and email support for the first 60 days. Omnisend's includes 500 web push notifications and 24/7 chat support, but no SMS. Neither is enough to run a real store, so treat them as trials.
How does Klaviyo count active profiles?
Klaviyo bills on every profile it can still email, text or push to, whether you've messaged them recently or not. Unsubscribed and suppressed profiles don't count. Since February 2025 this has pushed many accounts into higher tiers, so suppressing unengaged contacts is the quickest way to lower a Klaviyo bill.
Which has better deliverability, Omnisend or Klaviyo?
Neither, on its own. Both run solid sending infrastructure and require SPF, DKIM and DMARC on a branded domain for bulk sending. Inbox placement comes down to your authentication, list hygiene and sending patterns, which is what CLVmaxers' deliverability fix works on.
When should you move from Omnisend to Klaviyo?
When your team will actually use what Klaviyo adds: predicted lifetime value and churn risk in segments, custom reporting, WhatsApp or two-way SMS, or an integration Omnisend doesn't have. If none of those apply, the higher bill buys depth you won't use. CLVmaxers will tell you if moving is the right call for your store.
Can you connect Claude or ChatGPT to Omnisend?
Yes. Omnisend's MCP server is an official connector in Claude's directory and is available in ChatGPT, and any AI tool that supports MCP can connect. Once connected, you can ask how campaigns performed, build segments and draft campaigns straight from the chat. Klaviyo offers an MCP connection too.
